How to Handle a Customer Return
Process a sale return, restore stock, and refund the customer.
Goal: Returned products back in stock and customer refund recorded.
Sales Sale Return
Key conceptReturns are created from an existing sale — not standalone. Stock and refunds are handled in separate steps.
Phase 1 · Locate the original sale
- Sales → List Sales. Find the sale to return.
- Open sale detail (Sidebar → Sales → List Sales → sale detail).
Phase 2 · Create sale return
- From sale detail, initiate Create Return.
- Select products and quantities being returned.
- Submit sale return. Stock is restored to warehouse.
Phase 3 · Process refund payment
- Open the sale return from Sales Return list.
- Click Add Payment to record refund to customer.
- Enter refund amount and method. Submit.
Verify success
- Stock quantity increased for returned products
- Return payment recorded
- Customer balance updated if applicable
